Happy 50th Birthday Ross Revenge
Posted: 27 Aug 2010 05:36 AM PDT
Dear Caroline Supporter,
Our radio ship Ross Revenge is 50! To celebrate our web shop has a special free gift offer.
Born as Freyr, launched on August 20th 1960, through days as record breaking ‘cod wars’ fishing trawler Ross Revenge and finally as the broadcast home of Radio Caroline from August 19th 1983.
Visit our web shop, place an order worth £60 or more (excluding postage and packing) and we will give you a Ross ‘berthday’ present! You can choose from a Status Quo double CD XS All Areas – Greatest Hits, a signed copy of Steve Conway’s book Shiprocked or a Radio Caroline 0199 T-shirt (L, XL XXL). The Status Quo CD features a good selection of 40 tracks including Rock N Roll and Caroline. The 0199 T-shirt has very limited stock so this will probably be your last chance to get one of these. Steve Conway’s book provides a fascinating insight into his time on the Ross Revenge from 1987 through to the dramatic grounding on the Goodwin Sands in November 1991.
To help you make up your order we have added several new products. There is a DVD From Shipwreck to Salvation, a 7 CD set A Tribute to the Pirate Stations, Graham Gill’s book Way Back Home, a new coaster and a new bookmark.
The offer ends at the close of the August Bank Holiday broadcast from the Ross Revenge. The offer will be substituted with a similar value gift if stocks run out.
The broadcast starts on Friday and we are pleased to welcome back Steve Silby and Nick Jackson for this broadcast. Once again we’ll be offering you the chance to own a piece of Caroline history. We have a number of unique souvenirs that will be up for auction across the weekend. The special auction page will go live at 6pm on Friday, August 27th. Don’t forget that if you live in the south Essex or North Kent area you’ll be able to listen to the weekend broadcast on your radio. Just tune to 531kHz AM and that’ll be us!
